Hi Everyone, it's Mrs. Giner. A new school year is upon us, but what a crazy start to the year! There are lots of events happening in our world and in our country that we can really examine, learn about, and use to make this world a better place. El Paso remains ElPasoStrong, Covid 19 is a pandemic we never imagined living through, and our country is dealing with diversity, equality, and justice in a way that is unprecedented. I encourage you to consider the issues by READING and learning about them. On the "landing page" of your library catalog you'll find books dealing with these specific issues. I hope you'll read some of them. Whatever it is you are reading, feel free to blog about it here! I look forward to hearing from you!
I'm so excited about starting a new year with all you Ponies! This year is an exciting year as we are closer and closer to inviting our neighbor, Bonham Elementary, to join us all here as Ponies. Also, our new renovations have already begun. All that being said, let's choose some interesting books to read this year and do our absolute best in all our classes. Happy Reading!
The new year is upon us. Wow! 2017-2018 already. We have some great new books in the library and more to follow. I would love to hear what books you would like to have here in the library. Let me know so I can get those for you!
Can't believe it is already 2014-15 school year. Let's make it a good one. Be kind to one another, and if you see someone who looks like they could use a friend, be one to them.
What did you read this summer? Wow! It's a new school year already. 2013-2014 is upon us. What will you accomplish this year? I'd like to help you with that goal as best I can. Please come by the library, visit, check out books, let me know what you'd like more of in the library, and definitely let's talk about what you've read or are reading now. See you soon!
Hi Everyone! I'm Mrs. Giner, the librarian at MacArthur School. I encourage you to use this blog to tell about any great books you have read lately... or even not so good books that you do not recommend. I just finished the The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins which includes The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. I would say it is definitely not appropriate for lower grades due to the violent content of the book. I loved it though and I think middle school and high school students will really like it.
